Mystical Souls
I can sit back and view my meeting with Andy with the benefit of twenty years of hindsight. When we first met - I was 26 years of age and Andy was 20 years of age. From my current vantage and view point, we were a couple of greenhorns. Still wet behind the ears. Even so - I marvel at the depth, maturity, and wisdom of our conversations. True spiritual love involves a grinding down of the ego with all of its masks and pretensions. C. G. Jung once stated, "Love...is the dynamism that most infallibly brings the unconscious to light." Andy and I shared a great depth of love for our creation and spiritual creators. I had never met anyone so devoted to a spiritual cause as Andy was with his music. He was truly a minstrel with a message.
The depth, maturity, and wisdom that popped up
occasionally in our conversations -- was not something I felt was normal for
either one of us. I know it was not normal for myself. Andy marveled at it
himself and kept insisting that I was responsible for his creative insights. In
hindsight - I don't think it was me as much as it was our deep mystical bond.
Something we both acknowledged and marveled at.
We both had mystical visions.

Back in 1986, Andy and I were totally mystified by the coincidence of our meeting and its apparent meaning. We both quickly established we had been having some type of visions in dreams --which were prophetic of our meeting one another. I'd been having visions of meeting someone since 1980. Andy stated that as far back as he could remember, he'd been expecting to meet someone from his own visionary dreams. There was no doubt in our minds, upon meeting, that we were each the manifestation of the others vision. The mystery for us was, what the hell was it about?
Andy had told me he had started writing lyrics
to a song about the visionary dream. He had titled the lyrics "Man of Golden
Words."
In the hours, days, and weeks to follow after meeting Andy - we talked about
everything from A to Z. Astrology to Zen concerning the mystical application to
life, love, spirit, music, and expression in lyrics.
Andy made me promise to someday write down the mystical meeting that occurred
between us back in 1986. I had no idea how to put it into any type of words back
in 1986. Twenty years later and I still struggle for words that come close to
express the mystery that took place all those years ago. This web site is a
struggle to keep my promise to Andy - and find a way to express the magical
moments we shared together -- and the dream we still share in our hearts.
