1978 Near Death Experience
In 1978 - I was 18 years old. I woke up the morning after my 18th birthday with retrograde amnesia which affected episodic memory. My personal history was wiped clean from the conscious mind. I started a process of trying to recovery memories. One memory that stayed with me for many years to come - was dying in a car crash. I could recall the crash. I could recall being a ghost outside my physical body. I could recall being propelled outward toward the "heavens" at the speed of light. I could recall meeting "persona's" while on the adventure outside the body. It was all a mystery.
1988 Near Death Experience
In 1988 - I was 28 years old. I woke up one evening in a hospital bed. I could slightly recall taking the same type of trip again. While in the recovery room of the hospital - I learned that when the paramedics arrived on the scene - they had assumed I was without life and gave up on the idea of resuscitation. I had been given up for dead. I could once again recall being a "ghost" outside my body. This time - there was interaction with people at the scene of my near death experience. While a "ghost" - I had spoken to the paramedic and one of the eight friends who had been with me when "life" departed the body. Everyone wanted to know where I had been - when my body was without vital signs. My friends were intrigued by the idea of my ghost being at the scene. I had told them the conversations I overheard while outside my body. They felt the condition and state of the physical body prevented me from overhearing any dialogue - especially conversations that went on outside the room where my physical body was laying.
