Reincarnation Story

Meeting of Souls

The two traveling companions turned their heads in unison to gaze upon the face of the MP sitting behind the turret. They both shook their heads as if they had pried into a private moment between the two of us because we couldn't take our eyes off one another. When he saw the two of them turning their gaze toward him, he bent his head and tilted his hat to wink at me. They both said,

"Oh definitely. From the looks of it, he had the same sort of emotions stirred up inside of him. I don't think your going to have to worry about feeling alone with it. I think it is very safe to say he feels the same way about you as you feel about him."

A year later, I spoke to another friend about the 'thing' that came between myself and the MP. I told him I felt sparks were shooting out of us left and right and we had done everything we could to keep the little 'fourth of July' celebration between us. My friend told me,

"Dude, that wasn't a just a fourth of July going on between the two of you. It was a month of forth of July's going off between the two of you. The whole island had sight of those sort of fireworks."

The first day at the airport lobby when my two traveling companions witnessed the sparks flying out of the two of us may have been the first time but it wasn't the last time.

In the lobby that day my two traveling companions sensed apprehension from me. They tried to assure me that everything was going to be okay and asked why I looked like the weight of the world had been dropped on my shoulders. I didn't want to tell them but felt I needed to hear myself say it out loud. They felt I should have been overjoyed having the world stop on me and someone coming into my life to sweep me off my feet. I told them,

"If it was solely up to me in this moment, I would run out there and jump into the Pacific Ocean and start doing the backstroke all the way to Honolulu. I would try and get away from him as fast as I could if I had any sense in me."

They asked what I meant and I told them,

"God told me a secret and it is not a happy secret. He is not long for this world. I am here to kiss him goodbye and when he goes this time, he is going alone and without me. I don't like the idea of this sort of love coming into my life just to leave within a short matter of time."

They were both hesitant to digest what I had just expressed. One of them started to say it and stopped.

"Are you trying to say it was revealed to you that he is about to ....... my God, that is deep."

There was no doubt in my mind that he was about to die. When, where or how, I didn't know. I just knew we didn't have long before his spirit was due to depart this world. I once again asked my companions for confidentiality. I didn't know the mind of this stranger who was a reincarnated soul mate of my own soul and I didn't want to spoil what time he had left with dread, gloom and doomsayers type of prophetic vision that God had burdened me with. I felt it was my burden and mine alone. I didn't know if that sort of burden was placed on him. My instinct from the vision was - he would be flying blind and have no idea the end was near for him.

They both promised me they would keep my words to themselves and expressed they wanted to see the outcome of it all for their own selves.

It was a very small island and when I arrived there were only 350 personal due to the holiday season. The population changed from month to month but averaged only 500 or so. There was an area of operations that required a security clearance and some in my department considered it a dangerous assignment. My supervisor told me if I accepted and volunteered for the assignment until my security clearance came though I would have to be escorted around by MP's while on duty. I was told that I would come in contact with a lot of MP's if I was assigned to that department. I gladly volunteered and it was but a matter of days until I was rubbing shoulders with the MP on a daily and weekly basis. Once we hit it off - we became fast friends. Every thing was confirmed between us. He had the same 'invisible atomic' blast hit him inside that day at the airport. He spoke for hours and days on the subject and then put it behind us to live this life rather than explore they mystery of some anicient life we shared in the past.

The military personal were only on assignment for a year at a time. He assignment and rotation off the island was due five months after we had met. I found myself standing at the airport once again to see him off. I knew in my heart that it would be the last time I would see him alive in this life time. I wanted to doubt it and lived with the idea to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Shortly after his departure, two of his buddies came to get me dressed in their MP uniforms. It all seemed so official. One was carrying a bottle of whiskey and the other one had a couple of sedatives. They said they were the bearer of bad news. They escorted me back to my room and I prayed I could hold myself together until I got there. My heart knew what they were going to tell me but my mind still held out with hope that maybe I had recieved the vision of that first day wrong. Maybe I had heard 'God' telling me something other than what I came to believe I had heard. Some one later told me that everyone on the island that day heard me scream when I felt my heart ripped right out of my chest.

The last day I saw him at the airport I had told him,

"Remember, no matter what, it is not good bye as much as it is until we meet again. One way, one day, or another, either in this life or a life to come - my heart will gaze upon your heart once more. That is as much a threat as it is a fact."
